The Pacers are out of playoff contention for a while now, so it doesn't make any sense to play Siakam if he's dealing with an injury, as minor as it might be. Obi Toppin is expected to see a bigger role in the frontcourt with Siakam out.
Although Indiana's season is nearly over and it's been known since July that Haliburton would not suit up, this marks an important step in the star point guard's rehab. The 26-year-old suffered a torn right Achilles tendon in last year's Game 7 loss to the Thunder in the NBA Finals, and he'll hope to get back on the floor by Opening Night of the 2026-27 campaign.
Nembhard will miss a fifth consecutive game as he continues to deal with a back injury. The Pacers will have two games left on their schedule after facing Brooklyn, and there's little incentive to play Nembhard down the stretch. With Nembhard sidelined, expect Quenton Jackson and Kam Jones to see more minutes in the backcourt.
This is a major blow to Indiana's frontcourt. Based on the timetable for healing, the Pacers didn't feel like Zubac would be 100 percent in time for the remaining games, and with nothing to play for, they have no incentive to rush him back.
Nesmith is one of several would-be regulars who won't be playing Thursday, and the Pacers aren't expected to risk Nesmith with three games left in the regular season. With Nesmith out, look for Ethan Thompson, who's playing on a two-way contract, should have a bigger role in the Pacers' backcourt.
Mc Connell is one of several rotation regulars who will be sidelined for Thursday's contest, and the veteran floor general hasn't played since March 29. With Mc Connell out, look for Kam Jones, Quenton Jackson and Ethan Thompson to see more minutes in the Pacers' backcourt.
Sheppard will log his third straight absence due to a right hip strain. He'll have another opportunity to suit up in the second half of Indiana's back-to-back Friday against the Sixers.
Brown has started in each of Indiana's last four games. However, he's dealing with a back injury, so his next chance to suit up will be in Friday's meeting with the 76ers. With Brown ruled out, Jalen Slawson and Obi Toppin are the favorites to see a bump in minutes.
Furphy started in 21 of 35 regular-season appearances for the Pacers, posting averages of 5.1 points, 4.4 rebounds, 1.2 assists and 0.7 three-pointers in 18.4 minutes per contest. While no timetable has been announced, Furphy's absence could extend through the beginning of the 2026-27 season. With this news, the Pacers will likely lean more on Ben Sheppard, Kam Jones and Quenton Jackson moving forward.
