Edwards missed the first leg of the back-to-back set Tuesday, and he won't suit up Wednesday either, giving him three straight games on the sidelines. The Timberwolves are being extremely cautious with the star guard, and it seems the goal is to have him as healthy as possible for the upcoming playoffs. With Edwards and Ayo Dosunmu (rest) out, Bones Hyland could see an expanded role in the backcourt after scoring 19 points in Tuesday's win over the Pacers.
The veteran center will sit out the second leg of this back-to-back set, joining Anthony Edwards (knee), Julius Randle (hand), Ayo Dosunmu (rest) and Mike Conley (rest) on the inactive list. With Gobert out, Naz Reid should take on an expanded role, while Joan Beringer will likely see a significant bump in minutes.
Randle is one of several players who will miss the Timberwolves' second leg of this back-to-back set, as Ayo Dosunmu (rest), Anthony Edwards (knee) and Mike Conley (rest) are also out. With Randle sidelined, expect Kyle Anderson and Naz Reid to see more minutes in Minnesota's frontcourt. Randle's next chance to return will come against the Rockets on Friday.
Dosunmu will miss the second leg of this back-to-back set due to right calf injury maintenance. Presumably, he'll be back for Friday's game against Houston. Jaden Mc Daniels (knee) is questionable to make his return from a six-game absence Wednesday.
Conley will take the night off for the second leg of this back-to-back set. With this news, Bones Hyland could step into a featured role in the backcourt with so many players getting the night off for Minnesota.
