Grizzlies at Hawks: Money on the Floor, March 23, 2026
Morant has been sidelined by a UCL sprain in his left elbow since late January. His next chance to play is Wednesday against the Spurs, but he can be considered week-to-week until the Grizzlies provide a medical update for the star point guard.
Caldwell-Pope is expected to make a full recovery ahead of next season and holds a $21.6 million player option for 2026-27. He'll finish this season with averages of 8.4 points, 2.7 assists and 2.5 rebounds in 21.3 minutes per contest across 51 regular-season games (14 starts). Cam Spencer, Walter Clayton (calf) and Jahmai Mashack are candidates to see an uptick in minutes due to Caldwell-Pope being sidelined for the rest of the campaign.
Aldama, who has not appeared in a game since Feb. 4, will undergo a season-ending procedure to address his right knee injury. The fifth-year pro set career highs in points per game, rebounds per game and minutes per game this season, averaging 14.0 points, 6.7 rebounds and 2.9 assists in 27.9 minutes per contest across 43 appearances. He is expected to make a full recovery.
Out
B. Clarke
Clarke has been out since Dec. 20, and continues to get ruled out a full day in advance of tipoff, suggesting he's made little progress in his recovery from the calf injury. The Grizzlies are going nowhere fast, so there's not much incentive for Clarke to get back out there. Until Memphis provides a timetable for Clarke, he should be viewed as week-to-week.
Memphis announced Sunday that Edey would require surgery, but he wasn't officially ruled out for the rest of the season until after going under the knife Tuesday. The club expects the big man to make a full recovery ahead of the 2026-27 campaign.
Coward will miss a third consecutive contest for personal reasons, and his next opportunity to play will come Wednesday against the Spurs. With the rookie first-rounder remaining sidelined, Javon Small, Walter Clayton and De Jon Jarreau are candidates to see increased minutes.
Spencer has officially been downgraded to out due to back soreness. The Grizzlies will be awfully thin in the backcourt Monday with Spencer, Cedric Coward (personal), Javon Small (back) and Jahmai Mashack (ankle) all unavailable. It'll presumably be up to Rayan Rupert, De Jon Jarreau and Walter Clayton to pick up the slack.
Pippen was without a return timetable after initially being diagnosed with the injury, which was likely related to the surgery that caused him to miss the beginning of the campaign. The Grizzlies have no incentive to rush him back, so this move isn't surprising. It's unclear what Pippen's offseason will look like, but he should be back to full strength by training camp next season. He'll finish his third campaign in Memphis with averages of 11.4 points, 4.7 assists, 2.2 rebounds and 1.9 steals across 10 appearances (six starts).
This will be Mashack's fourth consecutive game on the inactive list, and it's not encouraging that he continues to get ruled out 24 hours in advance of tipoff. For now, he should be considered doubtful for Wednesday's meeting with the Spurs.
Small was added to the injury report earlier Monday due to lower back soreness, and the team has determined that he won't be able to suit up. Cedric Coward (personal), Jahmai Mashack (ankle) and Cam Spencer (back) are also out, which should leave plenty of chances for Rayan Rupert, De Jon Jarreau and Walter Clayton in the backcourt.
