Bulls at Heat: Money on the Floor, February 1, 2026
Giddey will miss a third consecutive game while managing a left hamstring injury, and his next chance to play is Tuesday against the Bucks. The Bulls will get Coby White (calf) back for Sunday's tilt and Ayo Dosunmu and Isaac Okoro should continue to see expanded roles on offense in Giddey's absence.
Collins suffered a significant right big toe sprain in late December, and he's not expected to shed his walking boot until late January or early February, at the earliest, per Johnson. Collins' absence has meant more minutes for Julian Phillips and Patrick Williams.
Huerter will be inactive for the first time since Dec. 12 while managing back spasms. The 27-year-old drew the start Saturday for the Bulls but has primarily worked off the bench this season, averaging 8.0 points, 4.1 rebounds and 3.2 assists in 20.8 minutes over his past 10 appearances. Huerter's absence could open up additional reserve opportunities for Dalen Terry.
Smith will end up missing both of Chicago's weekend games against Miami while nursing a right calf injury, and his next chance to play is Tuesday against Milwaukee. The Bulls are getting back Nikola Vucevic (rest) for Sunday's contest, but Patrick Williams -- who started Saturday -- should see a fair amount of minutes in Smith's absence.
Jones was given at least a two-week timetable back on Jan. 23. With that in mind, a return against the Nuggets on Feb. 7 may be his best-case scenario.
The No. 12 overall pick in the 2025 NBA Draft, Essengue's rookie season comes to an end with just two brief appearances to his name. The Bulls had a plan to bring him along slowly, to be clear, and he showed a lot of promise in four G League appearances with averages of 23.0 points, 8.5 rebounds, 2.3 assists, 1.0 steals and 1.3 three-pointers.
