As expected, Holiday will be sidelined for the second leg of the Trail Blazers' back-to-back set Sunday while working through a right calf injury, and his next chance to play is Thursday against the Heat. The Blazers will be reinforced with the return of Deni Avdija (back) from a three-game absence, and Caleb Love should also see an uptick in playing time in Holiday's absence.
As anticipated, Grant will take a seat for Sunday's matchup after being added to the injury report as doubtful earlier in the day. Sidy Cissoko and Duop Reath should see an uptick in minutes with Grant sidelined.
Lillard underwent surgery on a torn Achilles tendon in his left foot over the summer after suffering the injury during the first round of the NBA playoffs with the Bucks against the Pacers. The veteran guard was then waived by Milwaukee on July 1, making him an unrestricted free agent. The future Hall of Famer then decided to return to the Blazers on a three-year contract worth $42 million with a player option for the 2027-28 season. He also has a no-trade clause in his deal.
Williams was added to the injury report earlier in the afternoon due to left knee injury management, and he's since been downgraded to out. This likely opens up some playing time for Yang Hansen behind Donovan Clingan.
Thybulle, who is recovering from thumb surgery, is also dealing with knee tendinitis and he continues to get ruled out a day in advance of tipoff. Until the Trail Blazers update us on Thybulle's recovery, he should be considered out indefinitely.
Henderson is still recovering from a left hamstring tear he suffered in September, though he's expected to be re-evaluated soon. Until the Trail Blazers provide an update on his progress, the 21-year-old point guard should be considered doubtful for future contests.
Murray's absence will extend to seven games due to a lumbar strain. His next chance to play is Thursday against the Heat, though the third-year pro lacks a clear timeline for a return. Murray stepped into a more prominent role in the nine games (eight starts) prior to his injury and averaged 7.6 points, 4.1 rebounds, 1.6 assists and 1.3 steals over 28.7 minutes per game over that span.
A fifth metatarsal fracture is a notoriously tough injury to recover from, and there's a high chance of experiencing a setback if brought back too soon, so it wouldn't be shocking to see his absence extend beyond this 12-week window. At minimum, he'll be out through the end of December, so he can safely remain on the waiver wire in fantasy leagues.
