This is a tough blow for Denver, but it certainly could've been worse. Based on this timetable, it's likely that Jokic ends up missing all of January, but a return on Jan. 29 doesn't appear to be off the table. In the meantime, Jonas Valanciunas is likely to step into a starting role and will become a popular fantasy pickup, while guys like Bruce Brown and Zeke Nnaji could become more involved.
Johnson was diagnosed with a bone bruise in his right knee after the Nuggets' loss to the Mavericks on Tuesday. The estimated timeline means the seventh-year wing will not return until late January at the earliest. Tim Hardaway and Bruce Brown are the top candidates to enter the starting lineup, and Peyton Watson and Julian Strawther should also take on increased roles for as long as Johnson is sidelined.

The Nuggets are now down both of their starting big men, with Valanciunas joining Nikola Jokic (knee) on the shelf. Valanciunas made his first start of the season Wednesday and was slated to take on a larger role in the absence of Jokic, but with both of them now sidelined, the Nuggets will turn to Da Ron Holmes and Zeke Nnaji to fill in the gap at center.
The Nuggets deemed Braun probable to play Sunday against the Bucks, but the team ended up ruling him out for that contest. It's unclear if the swingman has suffered a setback, considering he missed 23 games with the sprain earlier this season. Tim Hardaway is worth streaming in shallow leagues Tuesday, while Bruce Brown appears to be an option in deeper settings.
