The Knicks don't have anything to play for Sunday, given that they were locked in as the No. 3 seed in the Eastern Conference following the Celtics' blowout win over the Pelicans on Friday. As such, Towns and the rest of the New York starters will be rested for their regular-season finale, though they should all be available for the start of the postseason, apart from OG Anunoby (ankle). Towns will end the 2025-26 regular season averaging 20.1 points, 11.9 rebounds, 3.0 assists, 1.5 threes and 0.9 steals over 31.0 minutes per game. With Towns and Mitchell Robinson (ankle) both out, the Knicks will lean more heavily on Ariel Hukporti, Trey Jemison, Mohamed Diawara and Jeremy Sochan.
Anunoby will skip New York's final regular-season game after twisting his ankle during Friday's win over the Raptors. His absence should lead to more minutes for Mohamed Diawara and Jeremy Sochan.
The Knicks are locked in as the No. 3 seed in the East, so Brunson and the rest of New York's starters will be sidelined for Sunday's regular-season finale. Brunson will end the regular season averaging 26.0 points, 6.8 assists, 3.3 rebounds, 2.6 threes and 0.8 steals over 35.0 minutes per game. Miles Mc Bride, Jose Alvarado and Jordan Clarkson should all see extended run time against Charlotte.
OG Anunoby (ankle), Jalen Brunson (ankle) and Karl-Anthony Towns (elbow) will be joining Hart on the sidelines, so Mikal Bridges will be the only regular starter available for Sunday's game. Landry Shamet and Jordan Clarkson could get some time to shine with so many key guys out for New York.
Robinson will end up missing the final two games of the regular season while managing a left ankle injury, though he should be available for the start of the postseason. He'll end the 2025-26 campaign averaging 5.7 points, 8.8 rebounds, 0.9 assists, 1.2 blocks and 0.9 steals over 19.6 minutes per game. With Karl-Anthony Towns (elbow) also sidelined, Ariel Hukporti, Trey Jemison and Mohamed Diawara are all in line for expanded roles against Charlotte.
Shamet was in line for an expanded role Sunday due to the Knicks resting most of their key starters. Instead, the veteran wing will be sidelined to manage a lingering knee injury, but he should be available for the first round of the Eastern Conference playoffs. Shamet will end the 2025-26 regular season averaging 9.3 points, 1.8 rebounds, 1.4 assists and 2.0 threes over 23.0 minutes while connecting on 39.2 percent of his three-point attempts (on 5.2 3 PA / G). Jeremy Sochan, Jordan Clarkson and Miles Mc Bride are candidates to see an uptick in playing time due to Shamet's absence.
This will be Kolek's fourth straight game on the inactive list, and it'll be interesting to see if he gets cleared when the playoffs begin. Jose Alvarado should continue to pick up most of Kolek's minutes.
