Doncic was issued a technical in Friday's win over the Nets, and the infraction was upheld postgame, resulting in the star point guard's suspension. With Doncic out of the picture Monday, Luke Kennard and Nick Smith could see an uptick in playing time. Doncic will be back in action Tuesday against the Cavaliers.
Smart will miss a fourth consecutive contest due to a right ankle contusion, and his next opportunity to play will come Tuesday against Cleveland. With the veteran guard and Luka Doncic (suspension) both unavailable, Jake La Ravia, Rui Hachimura and Bronny James are candidates to see increased burn.
Thiero will miss a third straight game due to a left knee injury. His absence doesn't figure to impact the rotation. His next chance to suit up comes Tuesday against the Cavaliers.
