"Giannis is going into the last year [of his contract]," Edens said, the team's controlling owner until April 2028. "So, one of two things will happen: Either he will be extended or he'll be traded." Milwaukee's franchise player is eligible to sign a four-year, $275 million extension on Oct. 1, but it's looking increasingly likely that these two sides are heading towards a split.
This is a tough blow for a Milwaukee team that already has numerous injuries. With Portis out, the Bucks could lean more on Ousmane Dieng and Taurean Prince.
Out
K. Porter Jr.
Porter was unable to clear his questionable tag for this contest. With this news, Ryan Rollins, AJ Green and Cam Thomas are likely to see increased touches and minutes Saturday.
Out
G. Harris
Harris will be unavailable for the Bucks on Saturday, but his absence won't have much impact as he's been a fringe rotation piece. With Kevin Porter (knee) also sidelined, Gary Trent and Cam Thomas could see more minutes off the bench. Harris' next chance to play will come Monday against the Clippers.
