Davis is "progressing as expected," but a return in the near future appears to be off the table. A previous report from Chris Haynes on Feb. 6 indicated that Davis will likely sit out the remainder of the season, and that is looking increasingly likely.
Although Young is out for Monday's tilt against the Rockets and Tuesday's matchup against the Magic, he's on the cusp of making his highly-anticipated team debut. The star guard is set to make his first appearance since Dec. 27, when he was a member of the Hawks, and it's possible Washington has a minutes restriction in place for Young. Over 10 appearances for Atlanta, Young has averaged 19.3 points, 8.9 assists, 1.5 rebounds and 1.0 steals in 28.0 minutes per game and is likely to push Bub Carrington to the bench upon his return.
Sarr hasn't take the court since Feb. 8 due to a right hamstring strain, and this update indicates that he'll miss at least three additional matchups. Tristan Vukcevic should continue to see starts at center until Sarr is ready to return.
Out
D. Russell
Russell has yet to report to the Wizards after being acquired from the Mavericks in early February. Washington play the second leg of a back-to-back set Tuesday against Orlando, but there's no indication that Russell will be available for that contest, either.
A "venous condition" is any disorder that affects the veins, but we'll likely have more clarity on precisely what Whitmore is dealing with at a later date. Whitmore will end his 2025-26 season with averages of 9.2 points and 2.8 rebounds per game on 46 / 29 / 74 shooting splits.
Vukcevic was unable to shake his questionable tag and will miss the first leg of this back-to-back set. The Wizards will be very thin up front, so Anthony Gill (illness) could see a big workload if he's able to shake his questionable tag.
Gill is in danger of missing Monday's contest due to an illness. The veteran forward has been a key depth piece for Washington's frontcourt lately, even drawing a spot start on Feb. 22 when the team was shorthanded at the five-spot. However, he recently shifted back to the second unit following the return of Tristan Vukcevic.
