Gordon will miss a 15th consecutive contest as he continues to recover from a right hamstring strain. While Friday was initially targeted as the earliest possible return date, the team has not yet provided an updated timeline after announcing on Jan. 29 that the forward would be re-evaluated in 4-to-6 weeks.
This is a devasting blow for the Nuggets, and the franchise has had some awful luck with injuries this season. Watson has had a breakout season in Denver, averaging 14.9 points, 4.9 rebounds, 2.0 assists, 1.2 blocks and 1.0 steals while hitting 41.7 percent from beyond the arc. With Watson sidelined, there will be more opportunities for guys like Julian Strawther, Spencer Jones, Tim Hardaway and maybe even Zeke Nnaji.
Jones was previously listed as questionable due to a right shoulder strain, an injury he appeared to aggravate during Friday's overtime loss to the Thunder. The second-year forward has dealt with a string of absences in February, previously missing time due to a concussion. With Jones sidelined Sunday alongside Aaron Gordon (hamstring) and Peyton Watson (hamstring), the Nuggets will likely lean more heavily on Tim Hardaway and Bruce Brown to fill minutes on the wing
