Knicks at Bulls: Money on the Floor, February 22, 2026
Simons injured his left wrist during the second quarter of Saturday's 126-110 loss to the Pistons. He will be held out for the second leg of the Bulls' back-to-back set, and his next chance to play is Tuesday against the Hornets. With Jaden Ivey (knee) also sidelined, Collin Sexton, Rob Dillingham and Tre Jones should all see more minutes off the bench behind the starting backcourt of Josh Giddey and Isaac Okoro.
Collins has not played since sustaining the injury against the Bucks on Dec. 27. He was recently reevaluated by medical staff, who determined that season-ending surgery was the best course of action for the veteran big man. Collins was limited to just 10 regular-season games due to injury and averaged 9.7 points, 5.6 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 0.9 threes over 18.4 minutes per game. He will enter the offseason as an unrestricted free agent.
Out
J. Ivey
Ivey has been dealing with pain in his left knee, and the injury is severe enough for the fourth-year guard to be sidelined for an extended period of time. He was acquired by the Bulls from the Pistons in early February and averaged 11.5 points, 4.8 rebounds, 3.0 assists, 2.0 threes and 2.0 steals over 28.8 minute per game in four outings (three starts) with Chicago. Ivey's absence means Collin Sexton, Tre Jones and Rob Dillingham should all take on expanded roles off the bench behind backcourt starters Josh Giddey and Anfernee Simons.
The No. 12 overall pick in the 2025 NBA Draft, Essengue's rookie season comes to an end with just two brief appearances to his name. The Bulls had a plan to bring him along slowly, to be clear, and he showed a lot of promise in four G League appearances with averages of 23.0 points, 8.5 rebounds, 2.3 assists, 1.0 steals and 1.3 three-pointers.
