Magic at Cavaliers: Money on the Floor, January 26, 2026
This is a big blow for the Cavs, who will be without Garland for at least the next five games and likely longer. The point guard reportedly suffered the injury Jan. 14 against Philly and has already missed one game as a result of the injury. Craig Porter and Jaylon Tyson should be in line for more opportunities until Garland can return.
Hunter is still dealing with right knee soreness and might miss a second consecutive contest. If the 28-year-old forward remains sidelined, Nae'Qwan Tomlin and Jaylon Tyson would be candidates to see an uptick in minutes.
Strus hasn't yet made his season debut, and he needs even more time on the shelf to recover from offseason left foot surgery. It's unlikely the swingman will be ready to play until sometime in February at this point. In the meantime, Sam Merrill and Jaylon Tyson should continue helping fill out the minutes on the wing.
The sharpshooter had missed six consecutive contests due to a right hand sprain, though it remains unclear if he's overcome the injury. With De'Andre Hunter (knee) questionable, Craig Porter and Dean Wade are candidates to soak up extra minutes Monday.
