Bucks at Nuggets: Money on the Floor, January 11, 2026
This is a tough blow for Denver, but it certainly could've been worse. Based on this timetable, it's likely that Jokic ends up missing all of January, but a return on Jan. 29 doesn't appear to be off the table. In the meantime, Jonas Valanciunas is likely to step into a starting role and will become a popular fantasy pickup, while guys like Bruce Brown and Zeke Nnaji could become more involved.
Murray will miss his second straight game due to a left ankle sprain. The star point guard is also under the weather, and his next opportunity to play will come Tuesday against the Pelicans. With Murray out, Jalen Pickett and Bruce Brown are candidates for increased playing time.
Johnson was diagnosed with a bone bruise in his right knee after the Nuggets' loss to the Mavericks on Tuesday. The estimated timeline means the seventh-year wing will not return until late January at the earliest. Tim Hardaway and Bruce Brown are the top candidates to enter the starting lineup, and Peyton Watson and Julian Strawther should also take on increased roles for as long as Johnson is sidelined.
Out
J. Valanciunas
The Nuggets are now down both of their starting big men, with Valanciunas joining Nikola Jokic (knee) on the shelf. Valanciunas made his first start of the season Wednesday and was slated to take on a larger role in the absence of Jokic, but with both of them now sidelined, the Nuggets will turn to Da Ron Holmes and Zeke Nnaji to fill in the gap at center.
The writing was on the wall for Braun sitting Sunday after he downgraded from probable to questionable earlier in the day. With Jamal Murray (ankle / illness) also sidelined, Jalen Pickett, Bruce Brown and Tim Hardaway figure to be the top picks to enter Denver's starting lineup against Milwaukee. Braun's next opportunity to play is Tuesday against the Pelicans.
